Get X Factor Louisa's Look
Reggie and Bollie might be fun, but surely 17-year-old Louisa Johnson has to take the X Factor title this weekend? The teenager with the huge voice has blown the rest of the out of the water. And she looks great too!
We caught up with X Factor Makeup Designer, Julia Carta, who talked us through how to get Louisa’s gorgeous look (without being 17!).
First up, Julia has Louisa taking LQ Skin Hair & Nails Daily (£29.99, hollandbarrett.com) to maintain that flawless complexion. Her skin is hydrated with Embryolisse Lait Creme Concentre (£13, boots.com), a lightweight moisturiser for all skin types, and a cult favourite, used on TV and film since the 1950s. Then Korres Wild Rose CC Cream (£26, asos.com) corrects any imperfections (we;re not sure there are many!).
Louisa had a light professional spray tan from Beautylab London to enhance her already lovely skintone, and you can achieve similar with their tanning range of peptide fake tanning products (from £18, beautylab.co.uk)
Before makeup, the last thing appiled was NYX Pore Filler (£12.99, very.co.uk), giving it time to settle before the makeup was applied to a perfect blank canvas! This pre-foundation base coat contains Vitamin E.
To create the look of Louisa’s baby-soft skin, Julia used YSL Touche Eclat (£25, yslbeauty.co.uk) where it was needed for highlighting, and then used a professional favourite, Kryolan HD Micro Foundation (£20). This micronized foundation has unique light reflection. Optically, it significantly reduces the shadow effects of wrinkles. Which means that it enables a natural, youthful appearance especially with make-up for high-definition camera techniques for film, TV and photography.
To knock off any shine, Julia used Sheer Cover Studio Mineral Powder (£24.95, sheercover.co.uk) along Louisa’s T-zone. Then,to achieve gorgeous radiance, she applied Illamasqua Sculpt Duo (£27, illamasqua.com) on Louisa’s cheekbones, centre of nose, cupid’s bow and browbone to highlight and scuplt her face.
On Louisa’s eyes Julia used Kryolan’s Glam Sparks (£10.15 each, screenface.co.uk) in Silver and Noble, mixed together. Louisa’s lashes were achieved using Ardell’s Demi Wispies lashes, and then lots and lots of YSL Shocking Mascara (£25, yslbeauty.co.uk).
Louisa has stunning cheekbones, which were enhanced by Barry M Make Me Blush in Peach Melba (£5.99, very.co.uk). (I love Barry M, it’s a fantastic beauty on a budget brand). Her cheekbones were contoured by Julia using the Sleek Makeup Contour Palette (£9.99,superdrug.com). Her brows were threaded and shaped by Monika at Love Beauty, and then Julia used Silk Fibre Brow Enhancer (£19.99, boots.com) to define.
Finally, her lips were enhanced with NYX’s Butter Lipstick in Hubba Bubba Waouh. Oh, and you can get her perfectly French manicured nails using Sensationail Starter French Manicure Gel Kit (£69.99, sensationail.co.uk)
