Melvita's Nectar Supreme

2 min read

Melvita launch Nectar Supreme this month – a face cream that is apparently for all skin types, and all ages. Which is thanks to something called Kniphofia. Which is a flower, more commonly known as a Red Hot Poker.

My parents have these beautiful flowers in their garden, but I had no idea that they produce an abundance of nectar. Apparently, for a few days each spring, they produce so much nectar that it literally flows out of the flower when you press it with your hand. I must have a look at them next year to see if I can see it oozing out of them!

Melvita Nectar Supreme The Cream

The organic Kniphofia used by Melvita is cultivated in southern France, between the Drôme and Vaucluse regions. In the springtime, each of its stems produces flowers over five days. This is when the nectar is gathered, from dawn, in fields used specifically for Melvita, by simply and delicately pressing the flowers by hand.

Anyway, combined with royal jelly, the secret to the Queen bee’s longevity, and we have a brilliant complex for revealing beautiful skin. The cream also contains Melvita’s patented complex of three organic honeys, and beeswax, with unique moisturising properties.

What Melvita have created is a sort of organic Retinol, one of the beauty world’s most famous anti-ageing ingredients, known for its action on skin renewal.

Now, with all this honey and nectar, you’d think this cream would be rich and sticky, but it’s actually really, really light. It does have quite a rich scent, as you might imagine, but it melts into the skin. And 98% of the ingredients are from natural origins, with 28% of the ingredients from Organic Farming.

This lovely cream promises to give you a renewed skin texture, radiance and hydration.

Melvita Nectar Supreme – The Cream, £49 for 50ml, is available now. The full Melvita range is available at melvita.co.uk with the edit available from John Lewis and Feelunique.
