Bobbi Brown goes Greige

Greige. It’s not the first time the beauty industry has used this hybrid name- a mix of beige and grey – to describe a shade. Back in 2010 we were all painting our nails various shades of Greige, a sort of mushroom/taupe shade, thanks to Chanel and their nail polish.

The Greige Collection is a curated range of Bobbi’s favourite neutral shades that deliver the classic, chic, ‘Bobbi look’. Bobbi Brown was, apparently, mixing some paint shades at home, to find this perfect Greige, and she decided to create a makeup collection inspired by what she found.

Now, it’s back, and Bobbi Brown has launched a full Greige collection. And, at the centre of it, one of the loveliest palettes I’ve seen from Bobbi in a while. The gorgeous Greige Eye Palette (£52).

The centrepiece of the collection, this palette, in gorgeous silky navy packaging, features Bobbi’s favourite grey and beige-toned shadows, alongside striking new shdes like Greystone and Earth Metal. The full range is here, from subdued taupe sparkle, to a medium ash brown, and a slightly edgier grey. It’s a brilliant palette, perfect for autumn. The Eyeshadow shades are Ivory, Slate, NEW Greystone, NEW Greige, and Fog. Sparkle Eye Shadow shades are NEW Earth Metal and Twinkle, and there’s NEW Brown Haze Shimmer Wash Eye Shadow.

The other brilliant new product in this collection is the Intense Pigment Eye Liner (£26.50). This unique pressed powder liner provides richly pigmented colour that can be applied in many ways.

Apply smoothly and evenly for a precise line, or blend and smudge for an instant smokey eye. This liner palette has three shades in it, and there are three to choose from. You can layer the shades, or wear them separately for a variety of looks. You can also pair it with Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner, to double line the eyes – see the post on that from the other week here.

I really love these innovative little palettes. Choose from Black Plum, Midnight, and Forest. Use the new Dual-Ended Eye Liner and Smokey Eye Liner Brush (£31) to apply. This brush was created atthe requestof Bobbi’s makeup artists, and it’s a genius tool for your kit, makeup artist or not.

There are two new shades of Long-Wear Cream Shadow Stick (£21), a great tool for creating a smokey eye on the go. This shadow is a uniwue blend of oils, waxes and film-formers which give this water-resistant formula long-lasting wear. You can just apply the shadow and blend with fingers. The new shades are Greige and Midnight.

There are two new nail colours too – Nail Polish in Greige and Glitter Nail Polish in Smokey Topaz (£12.50 each). Both are subtle enough for day and glam enough for night.

With this look, lips can really be any colour, from a pink to a nude, to a deep berry or bold red. Bobbi recommends four shades of her Rich Lip Color (£20) – Crimson, Old Hollywood, Rose Blossom and Bikini Pink.
