OPI ColorPaints Blendable Polish

2 min read

Remember when every other picture in your Instagram feed was of someone’s nails?! The huge trend for nails has slowed down a bit over the last year or so, and so we haven’t had to endure horribly bad nail art photos  – oh come on, admit it, we’ve all said the same of some nail art attempts!

But, as OPI are a nail brand, they will continue to bring out new ways to paint those nails. The latest I’ve been playing around with are OPI ColorPaints – blendable nail polish!

OPI Colorpaints

I was a bit confused by this at first, but once you have a go, you get the idea. You always start with Silver Canvas as the base colour, and then use any of the fab shades on top, in any way you like, to create some brilliant, colourful, blended designs. This is not precision nail art, which makes it brilliant for us amateurs!

I have a fantastic Shellac still on three weeks after my wedding day, or I would have tried these polishes out properly. Once I get it off, I will have a go.

In the meantime, this video, featuring Sophie Harris-Greenslade, OPI Nail Art Expert shows you how to create an anmazing rainbow tie dye effect with these polishes.

There are eight colours to choose from, and to blend. Indigo Motif, a lovely blue, Purple Perspective, a deep purple, Pen & Pink, Primarily Yellow, Chromatic Orange, Turquoise Aesthetic, Magenta Muse, and bright green Landscape Artist.

OPI Color Paints Minis

You can buy the polishes individually at £12.50 each, or you can select a Trio Kit, which comes with a free nail art brush ColorPaints trio from OPI(£29.95), or a set of Mini Nail Lacquers, which I think is a great buy at £19.95.

I think if you want to experiment, then the mini lacquers are all you will need.

You can use the polishes on their own, but they look much better when blended with the others.

If you want more info and more tutorials on how to use them, visit the US OPI website

These OPI ColorPaints Blendable Nail Lacquers are only available at Selfridges, but that means you can order them at selfridges.com
