To be a mother of the bride (or mother of the groom) is a joyous experience that leaves no time for niggly hair and makeup distractions.
It’s a time where the mum should feel 100% confident in her look so she is free to forget about it and soak up every second of her child’s special day.
Our Customer Care Advisor Julie Marie Snaddon is getting married next spring, so we decided to give her mum Lesley a mother of the bride hair and make up look, created by Jenny from Tartan LLips.
Mother of the Bride Makeup
Jenny has worked for Nars, Bobbi Brown and Urban Decay and created makeup looks for the BBC and Nike, as well as regular bridal makeup looks, so she is well qualified to create the perfect mother of the bride hair and makeup look.
Her advice for bridal mums was “look like yourself. Don’t go out your comfort zone. Maybe just a little bit more colour on your face so the photos don’t wash you out. Your makeup needs to be long wearing. On the day itself take a lip colour along with you that you can reapply during the day. When it comes to hair, a lot of mother of the brides wear hats so you may have to think about a style that suits a hat.”
