Green Lipstick Fairy Tale...
Let’s start the week with a fairytale, shall we? A tale of very different women and their quest for that seemingly elusive, perfect, lipstick. Are you sitting comfortably? Then I will begin…
Once upon a time, in a land far far away, there lived a beautiful queen who longed to find the perfect rosebud pink lipstick. And try as she might to find that fairy tale perfection, her friends quickly brought her back to reality.
“Too sweet!” cried Goldilocks.
“Too pale!” said Snow White.
“Too cupcake!” followed the Gingerbread Man.
The queen despaired and all but gave up on her quest until one day she chanced upon Frog Prince. This astonishing emerald green lipstick was not all it appeared to be! As soon as she touched it to her lips, the sheer green pigments suddenly transformed into a magical and flattering rosebud shade that seemed to have been made for her and her alone.

What on earth am I going on about? Lipstick Queen’s Frog Prince lipstick, that’s what! This green lipstick – which does not come out green at all, by the way, is a hit. In its first week on the shelves, the cult brand sold twice as many Frog Prince lipsticks than it did of its previous best-seller in an entire month, with many stores around the country selling out entirely.
So what’s all the fuss about? For starters, it doesn’t stay green. As soon as the deep emerald green pigments make contact with your lips, they react with your skin’s warmth and pH levels, transforming into your own shade of magical rosebud pink.
Frog Prince was created by lipstick designer Poppy King, whose previous lipstick successes include the red that suits everyone, Medieval, which also happens to be the bestselling lipstick in Barneys NYC across all brands, and Hello Sailor, another sell out sensation, which tints lips a flattering berry mauve.
For me, this lipstick gave me nothing but a sort of pale-pink, natural hue, as you can see from the images above. so I am not loving it really, but clearly I am not the norm! it is very clever, I will give it that!
