Smashbox Primer Water

2 min read

PRIMER WATERI was a little bit sceptical about this latest launch when I first saw it last year. Essentially, it’s water. Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Water launches next month, and it’s a spritz of, well, water, which will prime, hydrate and give radiance.

Essentially it’s the iconic Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer, which was developed in 2015, to help makeup look better, last longer, and to blur imperfections on shoots, in a lighter, purer, form.

This super-fine mist works brilliantly with the recently launched Smashbox Double Exposure Palette we blogged about on here over Christmas. It’s free of silicone , alcohol and oil, but is packed with revitalising electrolytes to waken up the skin and restore moisture. Smashbox reckon it’s like a ‘supercharged energy drink for your skin’.

Now, this is the bit that gets me – and reminds me of products before who have claimed this sort of thing – this water is passed through positive energy fields during the production process.

I don’t know what that means, but I would like to see it happening!

You can use this multitasking water in three ways: Prime to create the sheerest canvas for makeup application, to set your makeup for the day, and to refresh throughout the day and waken up the skin.

“I always used to mist models’ skin with plain water as the first step in any application, but now I don’t know how I lived without this primer,” says Lori Taylor Davis, Smashbox Global Pro Lead Artist. “It’s a triple threat. I use it as a super sheer primer before makeup, as a setting spray to keep makeup in place, and as a misting spray throughout the day to refresh the skin. It’s like a spa in a bottle!”

If you fancy trying this super primer water for yourself,  then it’s available from February 18, at Smashbox counters, boots.com and smashbox.co.uk
