Clinique's Nutcracker Suite
Clinique’s sugary-pink Christmas collection is inspired by the world-renowned Christmas ballet classic The Nutcracker.
“The collection was inspired by the characters, costumes and scenery of the performance,” says Janet Pardo, Senior Vice President Clinique Global Product Development. “The tulles and velvet fabrics in vivid pinks, glittering whites and vibrant purples inspired us to develop a colour collection that brings to life the whimiscal nature of The Nutcracker.”
So, The Nutcracker Suite is the result, a simple, small collection of a few lovely products – all sugary pink, but with the subtlety of Clinique, of course. The collection includes two ‘acts’ inspired by different aspects of the performance. Each act features a colour compact containing an eye shadow quad with a co-ordinating Blushing Blush Powder Blush shade, along with two complementary shades of Chubby Stick Baby Tint Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm. Both acts are completed with the new Blended Face Powder and brush in Snowflake Dreams
Inspired by the ‘Waltz of the Snowflakes’, The Nutracker Act I (£35) colour compact, pictured left, includes a Snowflake Suite eye shadow quad in soft pinks and sultry tones, and a delicate pink Blushing Powder Blush in Plie Pink.
Inspired by the ‘Sugar Plum Fairy, The Nutcracker Act II (£35) colour compact includes a Sugar Plum Suite eye shadow quad that matches beautiful plum shades to shimmering white and silver tones, paired with a flushed pink Blushing Blush Powder Blush in Tutu Pink – this one is only available online at clinique.co.uk
The two Chubby Stick Baby Tints (£17) to complement the quads are Budding Blossom and Flowering Freesia – both very pale, lovely pinks.
And then there’s the star of the show – the new Blended Face Powder (£23) in Snowflake Dreams. Created to 
mirror the shimmering elegance of the performance, it’s perfect for shoulders, neck, chest – anywhere you like. It’s nowhere near as pink as it looks in the pot, but it is pink enough, and just shimmery enough for any festive gathering!
