Think Pink beauty for breast cancer awareness

3 min read

It’s October, so in the beauty world that mean time to think pink for breast cancer charities. These days it’s more than just the beauty world that embrace the ‘think pink’ style in October, but it began in the beauty world in 1992, as the late Evelyn Lauder founded The Estée Lauder Companies’ Breast Cancer Awareness (BCA) Campaign.

The BCA Campaign has raised more than $53 million to support global research, education and medical services; with nearly $42 million funding 166 Breast Cancer Research Foundation® (BCRF) research projects worldwide over the past 20 years.

But it’s not just the Lauder companies who contribute to breast cancer charities. Many other brands now create limited edition ‘pink’ products for October for various breast cancer charities.

Here are a few of my favourite products out there this year – and details of the charity donation given when you purchase them.

Clinique’s Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion +  (£29.50) comes with a cute little keyring attached for the BCA campaign. The brand also have a Limited Edition Long Last Lipstick in Power Pink (£17) for the campaign which comes in a cute little purse. £2 from every purchase goes to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Estee Lauder’s Advanced Night Repair (£69) is also dressed up with a cute keyring pink ribbon charm. Lauder have various items available for the charity campaign –  Evelyn Lauder Dream Compact (£75), Evelyn Lauder Dream Pin (£10), and the Evelyn Lauder and Liz Hurley Dream Color Collection (£28). Lauder will donate 20% of every sale of these items to the Breast Cancer research Foundation. Sadly the gorgeous Modern Muse pink solid perfume compact I’ve pictured here is not available in the UK!
