Bobbi Brown Skin Weightless Powder Foundation

YES! It’s another foundation! It’s all I seem to be reviewing at the moment. This latest is from the queen of bases, Bobbi Brown, and it’s a compact powder foundation.

Bobbi Brown Skin Weightless Powder Foundation is a bit different to the others I’ve been trialling of late. I have quite a lot to say about this one, so bear with me!

Most powder foundations start as powder that is pressed into a pan – this one is different because it starts as a creamy liquid and powder blend which is baked for 12 hours. This advanced slurry technology – as Bobbi Brown call it – combines the softest and lightest-weight powders, swirled into an emulsion-like formula that feels weightless and maintains moisture for an ‘unpowdered’ look and natural matte finish.

And it ABSOLUTELY does. This does not cake, does not sit in pores, and looks and feels almost not-there, but there, if that makes any sense! It is a matte finish, which is a bit odd for me at the moment, as coming out of summer, I am still eking out my tan, and enjoying a bit of shimmer AND being er, a bit older, a dewy finish, with luminosity and brightening qualities can be more flattering for me. BUT. I love this matte look for winter.

It’s not drying at all, it controls shine, it lasts all day, is really soft, and smooth and you get all the softness with none of the oils. You can use the sponge it comes with to apply, or use a powder brush to buff it on, starting at the forehead, nose and chin, and working outwards. You don’t need a lot, and it comes in 20 shades, right across the skintone spectrum, as most Bobbi bases do.

It’s handy and contained in it’s own compact, with a mirror. I am a big fan of this one for the winter months when the last hint of tan has faded and I am back to loving the matte look!
