Lush have just launched their sun care and, of course, it’d not like any sun care you will have used before. It’s innovative, natural and I can’t wait to try it out properly on holiday in a few weeks.
There are five products in the new range – Million Dollar Moisturiser, Lifesaver, The Sunblock, Sesame Suntan Lotion, and Powdered Sunshine.
I am most intrigued by The Sunblock (£8.95). This is an SPF30 sunscreen, in a block form, which you use in the shower! You wash with it, rinse, pat dry and head out into the sun. All I can go on are the reviews, which seem to praise it, but I really want to try this one for real on a hot day on the beach. It has three broad-spectrum sunscreens in it, as well as cocoa butter, calamine powder, sesame oil, rose absolute and chamomile blue oil.
The Million Dollar Moisturiser (£32.50) is an SPF30 for the face full of protective sunscreens, evening primrose oil, shea butter, jojoba, honey and lavender oil to keep your complexion smooth, soft and safe from the sun. It also has a little shimmer in it, for that golden glow.
The Sesame Suntan Lotion (from £8) has an SPF10, which is pretty low for suncare these days, but this one will also help you tan, as it contains sesame oil and a walnut leaf infusion to help to increase the skin’s melanin production. Cocoa butter and aloe extract will soothe and nourish the skin, with three broad-spectrum sunscreens to ensure that your skin stays protected.
The Lifesaver Sunscreen Cream (£25) This is another SPF30 and contains rich and nourishing ingredients like shea, cocoa and murmuru butter – the latter a particular high-end brand favourite. It also contains sesame, coconut, avocado, lavender, neroli, rose hip and olibanum oils.
Finally, Powdered Sunshine (£6.95). This one is pretty interesting. It’s a loose, light powder to sprinkle onto your skin and protect you from the sun. Easy to carry around with you, and very handy for topping up your sun protection throughout the day. With plenty of calamine powder – which is rich in the natural sunscreen zinc oxide – sesame oil, lemon, lime and patchouli oils for a fresh, earthy and citrusy fragrance.
