Jo Malone Edinburgh Herb Garden

2 min read

Last month I blogged about the Jo Malone Silk Blossom Candle, sales of which contributed to the Jo Malone London charity projects, one of which was the Edinburgh Redhall Walled Garden, in association with the Scottish Association of Mental Health (SAMH).

Last week, I attended the launch of the garden, and what a hidden gem it is! I had no idea where Redhall Walled Garden was in Edinburgh, and was really pleasantly surprised by the size, beauty and tranquility of it.

The Jo Malone Herb Garden – and the restored Roundhouse – are two beautiful additions to this lovely, well-kept space. They’ve been over a year in the making; lots of hard work from garden staff, volunteers, and Jo Malone London employees!

The Redhall Walled Garden, on Edinburgh’s Lanark Road, is a brilliant initiative for helping people regain confidence, and reintroducing them to a routine, after periods of mental ill health. The garden is maintained by trainee gardeners, who should be proud of their efforts, as it is a beautiful place. SAMH offers the trainees training in horticulture, conservation and life skills. It’s rejuvenating and restorative.

Gardening definitely is good for the soul. At the launch party we were treated to a lovely afternoon tea from Three Sisters Bake, and had a chance to enjoy the gardens. You can pop along, free of charge, to the Redhall Walled Garden for some chill out time yourself, Monday to Friday, 9am to 3.30pm.
