Dr Murad in Debenhams Glasgow

3 min read

A brand new, shiny Dr Murad counter opened in the Debenhams Argyle Street Glasgow beauty hall this week. Who is Dr Murad? Well, he’s Dr Howard Murad, an American Board-certified Dermatologist and trained pharmacist, who has treated thousands of patients over more than 30 years in practice, and who has his own skincare line, Dr Murad.

Dr Murad is a little different than many other ‘Dr’ brands in that he looks at the whole picture – well being as well as wrinkles, blackheads, and other skin concerns! His products focus on three key ingredients – hydrators, anti-inflammatories, and antioxodants. So, that means hydrating the skin, treating and calming irritated skin, and neutralising free radical activity and strengthening the skin’s defences.

He has ranges for every type of skin, and every skin concern you may ever have: Blemish control, Anti-ageing blemish control, Resurgence, Environmental Shield, Redness Therapy, Bodycare, Murad Man, Age-Proof Suncare, White Brilliance, Hybrids and Pore reform.

He also has lots of different skin supplements, to treat concerns from within. All of this, as well as skin analysis machines, and mini treatments, are available at his new Debenhams Glasgow counter. There are also books, reaffirming his positive lifestyle and full of inspirational stories and quotes, like the one my friend and I are posing with at the launch party in the picture below.

A couple of products we took home with us were the new Instant Radiance Eye Cream (£49.50) which brightens and smooths the entire eye area – you use this on the lids and under the brow bone as well as under the eyes. It feels like a mattifier, really smooth and glossy.

But the product I was most interested in was the Blackhead & Pore Clearing Duo (£50) from the Pore Reform range. I’ve yet to try it, but I am looking forward to using it. I do love using strips to pull out the blackheads around my nose (gross but true!), but not having them would be a lot better, and this duo aims to reduce the formation of blackheads by an average of 85%!

You apply the blackhead remover first, leave it on for 10 minutes, and rinse with warm warm water after exfoliating it into the skin. Then, after patting the area dry, you apply the Pore Dr Murad counter twoRefining Sealer. This is like a serum, and you apply a thin layer to the whole face, and then  second layer 12 hours after treatment.  Let’s see if it works!

At counter, or the MuradSpace, to give it its proper name, a complimentary Skin Health Assessment with the YouthCam will measure five key skin health markers: fine lines and wrinkles, pigmentation, redness, inflammation and pores. The result is a personalised product recommendation, which is what we all want, after all.

The Debenhams MuradSpace is open now, so go visit! For more information visit murad.co.uk, and follow @MuradUK on Twitter for all the latest news.
