Tom Ford's beautiful Summer
It must be amazing to live in Tom Ford’s beautiful life, don’t you think? Well, for a day at least. I’m not sure I could be that perfect all the time. But I can indulge my Tom Ford obsession with his beautiful cosmetics, and his summer collection doesn’t disappoint.
Earlier this year he launched new lipsticks and nail polishes in bold, tropical-inspired, colours – we blogged about them here. Now, it’s the turn of the Summer Color Collection. There’s a hint of colour in there too, in the shape of this beautiful Eye and Cheek Compact (£68) with lovely neutral shades, offset with a bold coral and a deep midnight blue.
There are two Tom Ford Lip Shimmers in Moonlight and Solar Gold (£36 each). These can be swept onto bare lips for a sultry, glimmering effect, or veiled over Tom Ford Lip Color to add radiant shimmer to nude or vivid shades. Infused with Vitamins C and E and Shea Butter, the lip shimmers are brilliantly moisturising, and come in a domed bullet, in the limited edition white and gold Tom Ford packaging.
The last product in this mini-collection is the Skin Illuminator (£46) in Fire Lust, which appeared last year and was such a huge hit, Tom Ford have brought it back – this time in this summer’s white and gold packaging. I absolutely love this illuminator. It gives the face a naturally enhanced, sun-kissed look while moisturising and soothing the skin at the same time.
It feels gorgeous on, and the shimmering, pink-peach shade flatters all skin tones. This is the blog post from last year, when I had a makeover at Tom Ford using this lovely shimmer. It uses highly micronised pearls to diffuse light around the face, and you can apply it all over, on its own, or mixed with foundation. You can also use it as a highlighter under or over makeup.
