Jo Malone Edinburgh Charity Garden + Candle

There’s an exciting Jo Malone event happening in Edinburgh next month – the opening of their charity herb garden in ther Redhall Walled Garden. Jo Malone are partnering with the Scottish Association for Mental Health (SAMH).

The Redhall Walled Garden is maintained by trainee gardeners who attend as a result of mental ill health. SAMH offers them training in horticulture, conservation and life skills. As well as being rejuvenating and restorative, it’s a place where trainees can rediscover hope for their future.

As one of them explained: “For the first time since I was ill, I had a sense that I was able to do something and a little spark of hope ignited. Redhall is a place where you can learn that you are still part of the human race and best of all gain ways of coping and nurturing yourself.”

Gardening is good for the soul, say Jo Malone, and we agree. They want the garden to be therapeutic in the short term and life-changing in the long term. So, with SAMH,  Jo Malone London is building a new herb garden and restoring the round house within the magnificent Redhall Walled Garden, an immaculately-kept 18th century estate on the edge of the city.
The Redhall Herb Garden is supported and maintained through the sale of a Jo Malone London Limited Edition Home Candle. This year it is Silk Blossom, with a donation equal to the retail price going directly to the charities the brand works with. The Redhall Walled Garden is part of the brand’s larger global initiative, and is the fourth garden to open in the UK – the others in London, Liverpool and Bristol – with one in New York.

The gorgeous Limited Edition Silk Blossom Candle is in a beautiful ombre holder, the candle itself scented with the lovely, new, Silk Blossom fragrance. Marie Salamagne has created a beautiful fruity, fresh summer floral. It has a top note of White Pepper, a heart of Silk Blossom, which is apricot fresh, and a base of Moss.

The fragrance is available as a Cologne, and has a lovely tassel which, when turned upside-down, looks just like a beautiful silk blossom.
