Feather those lashes with Clinique

clinique feathering mascara lash power 2Clinique have an excellent wardrobe of mascaras. They even have one that’s just for your bottom lashes. And they are just about to addanother one to their mascara portfolio. Launching online at clinique.co.uk tomorrow, and onto counters nationwide at the end of the month, Clinique’s latest mascara is their Lash Power Feathering Mascara.

This mascara features an advanced formula and an innovtive new brush, to, Clinique say “build full, plush lashes without flaking or smudging“. And this mascara can be removed with just warm water.

So, to the brush. The soft and plush brush applicator was exclusively developed to create feathery, pretty lashes. It consists of a lot of fluffy, densely packed bristles which ‘scoop’ the mascara out fo the barrel and deposit it at the base of the lash line. Then when you pull the brush and mascara from lash root to tip, lashes separate and stretch. With each combing action, lashes become more defined for a flirty, feminine, wide-eyed look.

I’ve been trialling this mascara for a few weeks now, and I have to say at first I wasn’t a fan. I found the brush too soft, with too many bristles, and the coverage not enough. But the longer I used it, and the more I got used to the brush, the more I liked it. For me, if you want thick coverage you have to work at this mascara. If you want a thinner, more, well, feathery look, one or two applications will give you just that.

The mascara itself contains state-of-the-art polymeric stretching technology, inspired by the unique properties of honey!

Clinique scientists have harnessed the benefits of a polysaccharide called Pullulan and its honey-like consistency to help stretch lashes out easily upon application. The soft, pliable formula allows for a buildable and customisable application that results in separated, defined and perfectly oriented lashes.

The latest addition to Clinique’s Lash Power mascara portfolio, Feathering Mascara features an advanced thermal technology that was initially  developed for humid Asian environments and is resistant to tears, rain, sweat, pool water, ocean water and humidity.

So, it’s pretty good at not smudging or flaking.

Yet, it can easily and gently be removed with warm water – and you don’t  have to pull or tug at it. Simply soak a cotton pad with warm water and gently press onto lashes to loosen the mascara. Then wash the rest of your face as usual.

It really does come off that easily. And the smudging and flaking are at a bare minimum. It comes in Black Onyx and Dark Chocolate, and is suitable for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers.
