Sisley's Sunleya G.E - anti-ageing suncare
Suncreams are essential. We know that. We don’t want to burn, so we want to keep out those nasty UVB rays, AND we don’t want to age, so we want to block the UVA rays. It is safe to say that most suncreams are more bothered with the former.
In 2006 luxury French beauty brand, Sisley, came up with their range Sunleya – age minimising suncare treatment, as they like to call it. Eight years later they have taken their Sunleya range to the next step, with Sunleya G.E. Formulated with new age minimising (this is Sisley speak for anti-ageing) active ingredients, this is more sophisticated sun protction and a new complex of UVA and UVB filters for reinforced action against photo skin ageing.
What that essentially means is it works harder to fight against the ageing effects of the sun. The G stands for Glycation, a process which stiffens collagen and elasatin fibres, causing loss of firmness in the skin. Sisley fight this with Einkhorn Wheat extract, rich in peptides which mimic skin’s own processes, fighting Glycation and helping the skin stay tones. The E stands for Solara Elastosis – respobsible for deep wrinkles as it modifies the elastin fibres in the dermis. Dill extract helps to form functional elastin, again impriving firmness and tone of the skin.
Sunleya GE also contains an age minimising complex, made up of vitamin E acetate, soy peptide extract, and white willow leaf, long with Einkhorn Wheat extract. The forumla also contains a new combination of four ultra-high performance and photostable filters, guaranteeing optimum ratio between UVA and UVB protection. The combination means a very broad UV spectrum is covered, including long UVA rays, helping to avoid ageing and the formation of dark spots.
We all know that the sun damages us, but it really, really does age us as well. You only have to have a look at some of the elderly locals when you are abroad on holiday to see how aged their skin is, after years exposed to the sun.
This product is perfect to use on your holidays, or at home in the summer, as an alternative to your daily anti-ageing cream. It is rich and nourishing as you would expect. It’s also water-resistant. It doesn’t whiten like a suncream – it’s really nothing like a suncream.
I’ve used Sisley sun protection over the years, and it is absolutely brilliant. This new addition to their range comes in SPF30 and SPF15, and if you want to enjoy the sun, but maintain a youthful glow, and stave off the damage the rays can do, then this is for you. Of course, it doesn’t come cheap, but it’s cheaper than any future surgery you may contemplate to repair the damage!!
