Miss Dixiebelle Vintage Salon
Last month I popped along to a bash at lovely vintage boutique and hair and beauty salon, Miss Dixiebelle in Edinburgh’s Bruntsfield area. The vintage-styling salon has expanded (gone is the lingerie department) and Miss Dixiebelle offers all sorts of vintage hair, makeup, and nails experiences. It’s a brilliant place for something different for a small hen party (the original downstairs salon area is perfect for that), or just for you and your friends to pamper yourselves in a vintage style.
Emma, the owner, has carefully collected brilliant vintage hairdryers, and equipment, and has put together a team of fabulous ladies who will create the perfect vintage look for you. They do classic wet sets – who wouldn’t want to sit under a fabulous vintage hairdyer, and gossip with their pals?! I gave one a go (without the wet set!) at the recent party!
The new salon also houses Cutiecool nails who specialise in those classic 1940′s half moon nails, prices are all on the website.
Miss Dixiebelle have also welcomed Angela to their team, a hairdresser with 20 years in the business who is a regular on the Rockabilly scene, and knows her midi cuts from her ‘Bettie Bangs’! She is an amazing colourist as well, and is not afraid to bringout the bleach and ‘Crazy Colours’ when asked!
In addition to colouring, there are wet sets, perming and pamper packages on the Miss Dixiebelle our list of services. And, at the moment, there’s a bit of a discount going on.
