Liz Earle new Indulgent Bath & Body range

3 min read

Liz Earle sold her company to Avon three years ago, and we all waited with baited breath in the beauty world to see what they did with it. Liz Earle herself is still a consultant, but there is bound to be change. But nothing much changed at all.

And then along came this new launch. And the  ‘Indulgent Bath & Body range‘ is VERY different.

A complete departure for Liz Earle in terms of packaging, this range of shower gel and body lotion duos, in three fragrances created by Master Perfumers, have a brand new look for Liz Earle. I’m not sure if I am entirely convinced either.

I grew to love  Liz Earle products, and perhaps as much as that, I love their simple pastel blue packaging. Yes, they have departures from that with their Superskin range, and other bits and bobs, but this is completely different, and personally I don’t think it’s much of an enhancement. But what about the actual product inside, created by these Master Perfumers?

Tiare & Jasmine was created by Olivier Cresp, who says: ““I wanted to create a modern floral that  had a beautiful feeling of happiness and  optimism that we are all looking for in  our everyday lives. I was pleased to create such a beautiful fragrance for a company that is so passionate about their quality of ingredients and the values for which they stand.”

One thing I will agree on with many of the reviewers is that the Tiare & Jasmine duo is really super-scented, and it’s a little overpowering for my like. The Bergamot & Ginger Body Lotion smells great but it doesn’t feel in any way as indulgent as the Superskin Body Lotion, for instance, which is, admittedly, for dry skin.

Bergamot & Ginger was created by Master Perfumer, Sabine de Tscharner. She said: “This fragrance brings the moment of  the hour when the sun is just rising – there is a soft sensual light and early morning mists appear graciously. It evokes a memory of the serenity of nature and that instant feeling of calmness.”

Vanilla & Saffron is very, very sweet, but if you like vanilla, it’s perfect. Created by Master Perfumer, Harry Fremont, who said: “Vanilla is often associated with pleasure, and has a unique scent with a smooth, sweet, creamy taste that evokes serenity, calmness and gentleness. The saffron helps maintain an addictive aspect while allowing the fragrance to continue to breathe.”

There is nothing overly bad about these new products, but I am just sort of struggling to see why they have been introduced. Apparently it was because the public wanted them, but according to the reviews I have read, they don’t seem to have come up to the mark.

If you haven’t tried Liz Earle Orange Flower Botanical Body Wash then you must. It seems that fans of this are not loving the new formulas if you check out the reviews on the Liz Earle website. There are ingredients in here as well, that are not in the original products, which to many is disappointing.

If you love Liz Earle products you will probably want to try these, and you may love them too. I would just say approach with caution.
