Fake Bake launch anti-ageing self tan

Fake Bake launch into Marks and Spencer Your Beauty stores this month, and they celebrate that exciting news with the launch of a brand new product that is quite innovative in tanning. The Face is an anti-ageing self-tanning lotion. Fake Bake are calling it their ‘DD cream‘ – a DD product being a Dynamic Duo – the newest form of double-action skincare products.

It combines the highest quality self-tanning ingredients with clinical levels of Matrixyl-3000 from Sederma – Matrixyl-3000 is a peptide formula used in many anti-ageing products. So, whilst you are tanning, the Matrixyl-3000 in The Face is stimulating your skin’s cells to produce collagen, hydrating your skin from within and plumping to reduce the appearance of wrinkles.

So, you can effectively use this as a serum and tanner, and omit one step of your facial skincare and makeup routine. So, what’s it like? Well, I’ve given it a go, and it is a sheer liquid with a colour guide, but it’s very, very sheer,so when you apply you really see no colour until it develops.

Put it on before bed, well, a good hour before bed, and leave it oevernight. It didn’t streak, and it left a very subtle glow. You then apply it througout the day if you want more colour to develop. I didn’t do this part, not being the biggest fake tan fan in the world! I did have a bit of an issue though, with my dry skin. I felt that I needed moisturiser on top of this at night. My only gripe.

Fake Bake’s The Face is paraben-free and not tested on animals. If you love fake tan, give this a go. £22 for 60ml.  Available exclusively in Marks and Spencer, from March 31.
