It’s January, everyone’s going on about fitness and a ‘new start’. It happens every year. Your Facebook timeline is full of gym declarations, wheatgrass addictions, and everyone is Instagramming photos of healthy food! Enough already we say! Enough of the January cliches! But, wait a minute, what’s this? A brand new beauty brand category – Skin Fitness!?
Yes, that’s what Mio say they all into with some innovative products across four fitness themed categories. Workout Wonders – muscle motivators to energise and inspire, Firming Faves – for firming, shaping and toning, Moisturising Miracles – to hydrate and strengthen, and Aqua Actives – to add some power to your shower.
Pretty decent bit of new year marketing there, but what are these products actually like? Well, they use facial quality actives for every inch of the body, sourcing organic when it betters the formula, but also using the best of science when it matters.
They have a “No Nasties” policy which means the formulas are free from Parabens, Petrolatum, Synthetic Fragrance and Colourants, Xenoestrogens, PEGs, Phthalates and SLS.
There are three hero products in the range.
THE ACTIVIST firming active body oil is a resilience building antioxidant body oil whcih claims to seal in vital moisture for strong, supple, skin. It’s a blend of oils including Sweet Almond, Argan, Cranberry Seed, Calendula and Vitamin E. It’s very nice, and best used immediately after showering, on damp skin. (£29.50, for 120ml)
LIQUID YOGA restorative bath soak is a milky-moisturising blend of essential oils, mineral salts and therapeutic herbs. Perfect for after a workout, if you are doing that this month, and just lovely for any winter bath. It contains 20% Epsom Salts, Sage & Basil, Arnica and Murumuru butter. (£26, for 200ml)
WORKOUT WONDER invigorating muscle motivator is instantly cooling and revitalising. You use it pre and post workout or whenever you like to ease tense muscles from daily life. I’m keeping mine at my desk! (£21, for 100ml)
