New Estee Lauder mascara!

2 min read

I’ve been using two new Estee Lauder products since December, and I can highly recommend them both. If you fancy a new mascara, or a new eyebrow pencil, then get to your nearest Lauder counter come February, for Sumptuous Infinite Daring Length + Volume Mascara, and Double Wear Stay-in Place Brow Lift Duo.

Let’s start with the mascara. I was sent the brown to trial, and it has been nothing short of a revelation! Brown mascara – who knew!? Well, Bette Davis did, apparently. She always wore brown, and have you seen her eyes?! And my mum. My mum, and probably many women of her generation, prefers brown to black, and I am definitely a convert. It opened up my eyes, brightened them, and I really, really love it.

This new Lauder mascara has the brand’s first moulded brush (as opposed to bristles). It has 12 rows, which includes 11 short rows that thicken lashes thanks to the space between them, and one two, called the Extended Comb, which is longer than the others, and used as the final step to comb through lashes, it evens and separates them and gives you a feathery, fanned out look.

New Estee Lauder Mascara and Brow Duo

The mascara itself shapes, plumps, lengthens and volumises, thanks to an advanced elastic-like formula, which is a blend of rubber-like polymers, and extra-long carbon black fibres. It is a fantastic mascara. And the thing that I love the most – it really doesn’t smudge. It says it lasts for 10 hours, and it really does. I wore this mascara on Christmas Day – I was stressed out, cooking dinner for 11, hosting the day, but my mascara really never moved!

The Double Wear Stay-in Place Brow Lift is a dual-ended brown pencil  – one end for filling in the brow area, the other for highlighting directly under the brow. It’s a really, really micro-slim pencil – two times smaller than any traditional brown pencil, so if you are filling in your brow, it’s great.

As I pencil more on than there is, and my brows are really fair, almost blonde, it’s maybe a wee bit too thin for me – I’d be going through them at a rate of knots! I have been using the Rich Brown shade, and I think it’s a touch too dark. There are four shades to choose from – Black Brown, Soft Brown and Blonde Brown, the other three. The highlighter end is easy to use – just draw on a few strokes and blend. I don’t tend to highlight, but if you do, then having both products in the one pencil is a great idea.

Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in Place Brow Lift Duo, £19, and Sumptuous Infinite Daring Length + Volume Mascara, £21, are available at Estee Lauder counters nationwide, and esteelauder.co.uk, from February.
