Dry Remedy from Aveda

2 min read

If you have dry, brittle, damaged hair, and are still on a quest for the right remedy to it, then you might be interested in the new Dry Remedy range from Aveda. On a quest for hydrated hair, Aveda sought inspiration from the moisture rich forests of Brazil, where a unique solution for parched, brittle hair exists in the form of Buriti Oil.

This richly moisturising ingredient is harvested from the fruit of the Moriche Palm  – known as the  ‘Tree of Life’ – – which flourishes in Brazil’s wettest areas. (I do find this a little funny, as many trees over the world are referred to as ‘trees of life’ on many continents.) But the Buriti Oil which comes from this tree is powerfully hydrating, and is the hero product in this new range, which contains a Daily Moisturizing Oil, as well as a Shampoo, Conditioner, and Hair Masque.

I’ve been using the oil, which is a 99.9% naturally derived, daily leave-in treatment that is meant to instantly improve hair and ends by 41%. I have to say I was impressed with this oil – so much so that there is no way I need to use it daily. My hair is over-processed and dyed, and I do currently use oils, and serums daily, but I don’t think I need this two days in a row, it is that good. Do be careful and not use too much, and not put too much near the roots. You only need a few drops, and the temptation is to use more, but you really will not need it. It does tame frizz, control flyaways and restore shine.

The range has a patented Deep-Moisture Complex in it, which features the Buriti Oil, as well as pomegranate and olive oils. The oil is formulated without silicones, so it’s not coating the hair, or leaving behind a greasy residue.  You can use the oil on damp hair, after shampooing, and conditioning, or on dry hair, just where you need it.

I’ve not tried the Shampoo, Conditioner or Masque yet, but I am hoping they are as effective as the Oil. If you have dry, brittle hair, you may want to join me!

The Daily Moisturizing Oil (£17.50), Moisturizing Shampoo (£20.50), Moisturizing Conditioner (£22.50), and Moisturizing Masque (£28.50) make up the Dry Remedy Range, available from February, from Aveda stockists and salons, and aveda.co.uk
