This week in the 5pm office we have had so much fun taking part in our “New Year New Look” experiment.
When I asked around the 5pm office who would like to join me in beginning 2014 with a new ‘do, Michelle was well up for it.
“Whenever I do anything different with my hair it’s usually just to do with the colour,” Michelle explained.
“I’ve had it black, pink, purple, with blonde bits, green bits, red bits, but I’ve always had the same style.”
“So I thought I’d take the plunge and let a professional give me something they thought would suit me that was a change from my usual ‘look’.”
Sculptur Byres Road
To undertake this task, Michelle headed to the recently opened Sculptur on Byres Road to be greeted by stylist John Ioannou.
After a chat with Michelle about her hair history and styling routine, he picked up his foils and scissors and went to work.
He decided on sleek bob in a darker red colour.
“Michelle is used to red so I gave her something not a million miles away from her comfort zone,” John said.
“I used scarlett backed up with some deeper violet to give light and dark on the same tone. No bleach was used so there’s no damage to the hair.”
“For the cut I gave her a different look with shorter layers at the back. It’s quite easy to manage; all she’ll need to do is blast it with the hairdryer in the morning.”
“It’s a fresh and modern look.”
Michelle said: “”John put me at ease straight away and I knew I could trust his judgement as to what colours and style would work well for me. I basically gave him free reign!”
What was Michelle’s verdict?
“It’s great!” she said. “John made my hair look thicker and it’s so much easier to maintain.”
“My friends and family all think it looks great. In fact one of my friends was inspired to go get her hair cut a day or two after seeing mine!”
