Rimmel Space Dust and Seventeen Studs

I love sparkly nails. I think my nails have been sparkly the whole of the festive season, and they defintely will be tonight for Hogmanay. Every since the Millennium when I threw a silver-themed party, I have loved a sparkly end to the old and start  to the new year. And as I am spending Hogmanay out on the street at Edinburgh’s Street Party, I’ll not be able to show off a sparkly frock. So, my nails will be the next best thing!

I recently discovered Rimmel’s Space Dust Nail Polish, and it is AMAZING! I can’t rave about this enough. It’s sparkly, comes in five fabulous colours (the silver is my favourite) and it has a gritty, slightly matte, textured finish. And, better than anything else, it comes off really easily.

The colours are Aurora (beige-pink), Total Eclipse (deep green-black), Luna Love (bright pink), Moon Walking (silver-purple) and Shooting Star (silver).

Unlike a lot of glitter nail polishes, the glitter is in the polish, and doesn’t adhere to your nails, if that makes sense. It really doesn’t chip either – it lasts about a week, with just a little bit sort of fading at the tips, rather than chipping. It is brilliant. And it’s just £3.99 a bottle!

I’ve also been trying out two Limited Edition Boots Seventeen nail products – Deconstructed Suede Nail Polish (£3.99) and Deconstructed Nail Studs (£3.99). The polish is a matte glitter effect, very understated, but I like it.

The Nail Studs – despite the packaging saying gold –  are silver, and they are a great idea. The problem I have had is keeping them on. You really will need nail glue for this.

The packaging suggests that they could be put on onto wet nail polish, but unfortunately they slip a bit, even with a top coat.
