If you want GLAM in your makeup, think YSL! I always love getting YSL info through the post – their collections are beautiful, their palettes collectable, and the makeup is really good, oh, and their thinking behind their collections always makes me smile,

This Autumn Winter, it’s Electric Chic, and it’s all about the strong, urban, independent woman, taking inspiration from the dark blue skies, and neon signs, and grey buildings of city life.

The Palette City Drive (£42) is  at the heart of the latest collection by the fabulous Lloyd Simmonds, Creative Director Makeup of YSL Beaute, designed with with a nod to the masters of Pop Art, and a tribute to the New York City Street Art scene.

YSL Autumn Collection 2013 eye palettes

The first, in a pink case, is City Drive Arty, with bold neon green, chrome-plated steel, asphalt black and electric blue – four utterly YSL colours, inspired by the city’s lights and underground art movement.

The second, in a black case, is City Drive Classy – from the 127th floor of the Dubai tower to the roof of a Manhattan skyscraper, champagne, marble, concrete and steel are this eye palette’s inspiration. Really easy to wear, day or night. Thanks to an innovative manufacturing process, where the eye shadows are injected with pure water, you can uses them wet or dry and the colour pigment is immense – check out the campaign shot! Wow!

There are four new lip shades – two Classy, two Arty. Rouge Neon – a really bright, vibrant vermillion is my favourite, and the on-trend Prune Avenue – a nocturnal plum is perfect for this season.(£25 each)
