The Damned at TopShop

I am in love with the TopShop AW13 Limited Edition beauty collection, The Damned. It’s a capsule collection that vamps up sultry gothic makeup with gogeous  matte, velvet smooth finishes, and with it you can create some very different look.

Over on my own blog, Beauty Bombshells, I tried out the Velvet Lips (£10) in bold red, Velveteen Ribbon. This lovely red lip lacquer is bright red, very bold, and very matte. There are two other shades – Raven, a black, and Plush, an on-trend wine. It is very matte – best to use a lip balm before application, but remember to blot.

There are three Eye Gleams (£9) – buildable metallic cream hybrid eyeshadows which can be built and blended to create a dramatic high impact smokey eye, or a soft wash of colour, dpending on how you apply.The shades are Noir (black), Bronzed (mid brown) and Winter Frost (silver).

‘These are my new go-to eye creams. With just one swipe of your finger, you’re left with the most beautiful gilded eyelids. Intensify the wet-look effect by pressing more product onto the centre of the lid. I like to create a two-tone, modern smoky eye smudging the metallic black along top and bottom lashes and blending outwards. I then press the silver or the rose gold onto the centre ofthe eyelid to give a flash of bling when you blink,” says Hannah Murray, TOPSHOP Beauty Consultant

The collection also contains a new illuminating powder whcih captures pigments and light to reflect perfect polished skin. The Skin Perfecting Pressed Powder (£14) in White Lies combines the benefits of baked, powder, cream and fluid textures to deliver an even skin sheen.

There is also a Cheek & Eye Duo (£12) in Bitten Cherry and Matt and Gloss Nails (£6 each) in Croupier (matt black), Bad Orchid (purple) and Bitter Sweet (glossy red).
