Origins Plantscription Facial Oil
The Origins Plantscription range has grown and grown since the serum was first launched a few years ago. The latest product to be added to the anti-ageing range is the Plantscription Youth-renewing face oil.
Facial oils are, I think, difficult for some to get their head around. Putting oil onto your skin seems a bit odd, especially if you feel you have oily skin. But facial oils are one of the fastest growing categories in skincare. One of the world’s oldest beauty rituals, oil distillation methods can be traced back as far as 3500 BC and have been used faithfully by the Egyptians, Chinese, Indians, Greeks and Romans.
Today, oils are advanced, and can promote calmness, hydration and help combat blemishes. There are two types of oils that are both necessary for maintaining skin’s youthful appearance – sebum produces surface oils that lubricate and give skin its flexibility, while epidermal lipids protect skin’s moisture barrier to keep hydration in, and keep intruders out. This oil specifically replenishes epidermal lipids that diminish with age.
Facial oils work as an extra step in the skincare process, as an additional moisturiser – even for oily skin – by working with the skin’s own oil production.
Plantscription facial oil contains a whole host of essential oils, and other ingredients to mimic the skin’s natural lipids to ensure absorption. This oil really does sink into the skin on application. It contains Sunflower Seed Oil & Apricot Kernel Oil, Argan Oil, Rosehip Oil, as well as Squalane from olives, years, barley and wheat germ extract, and coconut and evening primrose, to help support the lipid barrier, and replace natural fatty acids.
