Neo Stem Beauty from France

I’ve been using another new serum this week – I can’t seem to get enough of them of late – this one formulated specifically for dry skin, and wow – I am impressed. Neo Stem is a ground-breaking anti-ageing skincare brand from France, born out of intensive scientific research carried out by a Marseilles based team into rare genetic diseases, including Progeria – a syndrome which causes premature ageing in children.

It’s been brought to the UK by Marks and Spencer  Your Beauty who have an amazing range of niche beauty products these days. If you haven’t been to a Your Beauty area in a store soon, go and investigate.

Anyway, back to the lab – in their fight against the toxic protein progerin, the cause of rare accelerated ageing, the scientists discovered two active ingredients: Omega Statine and Z-Dronate. When these two active ingredients are combined they reduce toxicity and therefore slow the ageing process. They work by slowing down the production of progerin, enabling the skin to maintain normal cell division, repair and production and thereby keeping the skin younger. Which is exactly what we want from our anti-ageing skincare, no?

Neo Stem launched in Marseille, France in 2011 where it sold out immediately creating widespread media interest. This in turn led to a nationwide demand which far outstripped supply. Neo Stem is still the No1 selling serum sold at French pharmacies – the most trusted and regular place to buy your beauty products in France.

The first product was the original serum, but this month Neo Stem launch two new products to the range. One fo those is the Neo Stem Serum for Dry Skin (£59), which I have been using for the past week or so. It contains Omega Statine and Z-Dronate as key active ingredients, as well as avocado oil to hydrate.

The brand suggest it is used in the evening – it is a once a day serum, each bottle containing enough for 30 days. I have been using it as my daytime serum, and it is so moisturising, that, teamed with a CC cream, I have no need of moisturiser!

This is quite remarkable, considering the dryness of my skin. You can’t use it twice a day, thanks to the active ingredients, and it does state on the bottle that you should pump no more than about three pumps at a time. This is more than enough for your face, and neck.

The other new product is the Anti-Ageing Eye Contour Care (£39) which also contains the two key active ingredients., but has been developed pecifically for the delicate eye area.

Neo Stem is available in the UK, exclusively at M&S Your Beauty in stores, and marksandspencer.com/beauty
