Boots Seventeen Face Studio

This new Face Studio range from Boots Seventeen intrigued me. Back when they were still 17, they were one of the first brands to launch a BB Cream (which has now been updated). I blogged about it here. I really liked it, and I used the Medium shade, which was, I felt perfect, even thought in most brands, I am Fair. So, I was curious to try out their CC Cream (£6.99), again in a Medium shade.

I’ve covered the differnece between BB and CC creams on here before, but to recap – BB creams were about treating the skin whilst giving you a little bit of colour, CC creams give you cover, and correct the tone in your skin. This one also promises a radiant matte finish. I’ve tried it, and I like it. It feels smooth, and it looks smooth.

The rest of the Face Studio range has been designed to help you create that ‘flawless face’ – the perfect skin we are all looking for, by using primers and concealers that suit you.

There are eight products, including the CC Cream. The three primer products are the Flawless Poreless Primer (£5.99), which is to me, an old-fashioned mattifying balm, and I really love the retro feel to it. The Stay Time Primer (£5.49) promises to lock your makeup to it, much like BeneFit’s much celebrated Stay Flawless Primer launched this year.

The Skin Wow 3 Way Highlighter (£5.99) acts as a primer, can be used as a highlighter, or added to foundation for radiance.

The four concealing products are the Phwoarr Paint (£5.49), a ‘heavy-duty’ under-eye concealer, which you apply with a finger, or a brush. The Seventeen concealerMiracle Matte Concealer Stick (£3.99) took me back to my teens – this looks like any classic concealer stick, and is probably as good as anything for covering up blemishes, but it perhaps a bit thick and drying for under-eye yes.

The Miracle Matte Concealer Crayon (£3.99) is just an updated version of the stick, a clever idea. That leaves the On the Spot Concealer (£4.99), which, like BeneFit’s Boiing – which I absolutely love – has blemish fighting properties as well as concealing.

The prices range from £3.99 to £6.99, and the products I have used have been excellent for budget beauty.
