Clarins - new concealer and foundation

2 min read

Clarins have two new products hitting counters in September, the Extra Comfort Foundation SPF15 and the Instant Concealer. I’ve been using the concealer for the last two months, and it is excellent.

I even had a beauty professional from another, rival, brand, remark on just how much it added light to under my eyes when I applied it on a night out with her. It looks like a little mini bottle of foundation, and a little goes a very long way. The USP of this new concealer is that there are three shades, matches to skin tones, to deal with the specific type of dark circle issues each skintone gets.

So, for Fair skin tones, there’s Shade 01 – which will help with blue dark circles – this is the one I have been using. Shade 02 for Medium skin tone deals with brown/purple dark circles, and 03 Dark Skin tone, deals with brown/black dark circles.

It does this utilising an exclusive ‘Light-Optimizing+ Complex’ which combines corrective pigments to target the colour of the dark circles, and illuminate the eye area. It is very creamy, and easy to apply with your ring finger. It instantly brightens – it’s quite remarkable really. It also contains caffeine extract which is known for its ability to stimulate skin’s micro-circulation and for its decongestive action, which works to diminish signs of fatigue. So, puffiness is reduced as well.

I’ve dabbled with lots of different under-eye concealers over the years, and this is the best one yet. It won’t be for everyone, the tube it comes in is very different, but if you have dark circle issues, I would really recommend this.

As for the foundation, I’ve not actually tried this, as I don’t have my colour match yet, but it is a very creamy and nourishing ‘pot’ foundation which has a cocktail of anti-ageing plant extracts that plump and hydate the skin. The coverage is meant to last for 14 hours – I’ll let you know on that one once I try it out. It contains Organic Argan Oil, so I am looking forward to trying it, as I think it will be excellent for my dry skin. It comes in nine shades, from Ivory to Cappucino.
