Hotel Missoni Natura Bisse Pure Air Bubble review

3 min read

So, if you read the blog the other week you would have known the Natura Bisse Pure Air Bubble was on its way to Edinburgh, at the Hotel Missoni. If you had a treatment, what did you think? I was lucky enough to get into the bubble, experiencing the lovely o2 Natura Bisse Awakening Facial. The bad news is that the bubble has now gone, carrying on on its worldwide tour after a few days in the Scottish capitsl hotel , but the good news is that this facial is available at the Missoni Spa all the time.

But back to the bubble for now. First introduced at the Oscars in 2009, this tent-like structure is essentially a pure space which allows you to breathe 99.9% of pure filtered air, whilst having a treatment. Because the environment you are in is purified, the effects of the products used withing the Natura Bisse Pure Air Bubble are increased dramatically.

The Natura Bisse Bubble lands at Hotel Missoni

I experienced my treatment before I learned that Spanish tennis ace Rafa Nadal has one fo these bubbles (Natura Bisse is a Spanish brand), and loves to sleep in it. My thoughts througout my facial had I know this fact before hand might not have been so, well, er, pure…

Anyway! Back to beauty business, and the bubble. I’m not entirely sure I felt any major advantages to having my treatment in this bubble. I certainly didn’t feel light-headed or any less or more relaxed than normal during a facial, but with the tent being white, it was interesting to have a facial which wasn’t in the complete darkness. I felt pretty calm and relaxed, and the facial itself, is, I feel, much more interesting to chat about than the bubble (unless Rafa’s in there, but there I go again…!)

The Natura Bisse 02 Awakening Facial is for all skin types with added benefits for those whose skin is suffering from exposure to toxins and pollutants – perfect, then, for city living. It does match perfectly with this bubble – it’s a purifying facial, so done in a pure space, makes sense. But don’t think you are missing out not having it in the bubble.

Natura Bisse UK National Trainer, Tracy, was my therapist for the 60 minute treat, and wow, what a treat. This is a lovely facial. It features a glycolic peel, which is non-granular and contains various fruit acids, milk proteins and more to help brighten the skin. Your peel will be tailored to your own skin type. The Natura Bisse Oxygen Complex is applied to help rehydrate your skin, and followed with the Natura Bissé Oxygen Finishing Mask.

Tracy works her magic (though not on me, here!)

This gel mask worked its magic, whilst Tracy gave me an amazing hand and arm massage, and then a foot massage. Bliss!  Hydrating Oxygen Cream finished off my facial and my skin felt and looked fantastic. Tracy did tell me that my skin was in a process of detoxifying itself, and she dealt with a few blemishes that were appearing. Double bliss!

Stepping out of the bubble, I felt great, but I wasn’t sure that was down to the purified air, or just Tracy’s lovely treatment –  it’s one that is well worth checking out.

The Natura Bisse o2 Awakening Facial is £65 for 60 minutes. To find out more about the Hotel Missoni Spa, visit the website on hotelmissoni.com. Call 0131 220 6666 to book, or look out for deals here on 5pm Health and Beauty as Hotel Missoni are one of the featured spas.
