It’s Luxury Week on 5pm Health and Beauty, with some amazing deals at some of Scotland’s most luxurious spas and salons. So, I thought I would share with you five of my favourite 5pm Health and Beauty-featured luxury spas. There are some great offers on at the moment, so make sure you book – everyone deserves a little bit of luxury now and then, and if the price isn’t too much of a luxury, all the better!

Mar Hall Decleor Spa, Bishopton

Mar Hall

Did you know that the Earl of Mar, who owned Mar Hall, is the oldest title in Britain? No, me neither. Wonder what he would make of the Decleor Spa in his home, which is now a wonderful hotel and golf resort, perfect for a luxurious getaway. Oh, and then there’s the spa. Gorgeous Decleor products, sumptuous surroundings, eight beautiful treatment rooms, all designed using elements of ayurvedic traditions. There is a Rhassoul Mud Chamber,  a fantastic Vichy Shower Room, and some lovely relaxation areas. If you are looking for some spa treatments that work, in luxury surroundings, with a little bit of history thrown in, then this is the destination for you.

Chamomile Sanctuary, Edinburgh

Chamomile Sanctuary spa

Tucked away in a Georgian street in Edinburgh’s new town is a true beauty sanctuary. Three years old this year, the beautiful, small, and stunning Chamomile Sanctuary is a haven for beauty lovers who want to escape the hustle and bustle of the city for an hour or more. The Chamomile Sanctuary has sumptuous decor, enhancing the beauty of the building. They use Aromatherapy Associates products for luxurious treatments in each of their four treatment rooms. They also have a fantastic nail room, and of course, beautiful relaxation areas. Once inside you will forget that the busy city is just through the walls.

Crieff Hydro Victorian Spa, Crieff

Crieff Hydro Spa

Built in 1868 as a hydropathic health spa, the Victorians loved using ice cold water to ease their ills. Thankfully that’s not the case these days – the beautiful Victorian Spa has an equally beautiful heated pool, along with sauna, steam room and spa bath. You get full use of all these facilities when you book a treatment in the spa, or are staying at the hotel. This is a Clarins Gold beauty salon; they offer key Clarins treatments, including Tri-Active Facials and Body Massages, which are just superb. Oh, and they have pedicure chairs which massage you as you have your feet pampered. How can you resist?

Misson Hotel Spa, Edinburgh

missoni spa

The Missoni Hotel is the only one in the UK, and if you haven’t been, why not? Wonderful food in restaurant Cucina, Prosecco on tap in the colourful bar, and the cutest little spa I’ve seen in a while. This is what you would call small, but perfectly formed. It only has a few treatment rooms, but it has the loveliest little relaxation area, in typically bright Missoni colours and patterns, where you can enjoy a sumptuous afternoon tea following a treatment if you so desire. Treatments are from Eve Lom, Aromatherapy Associates and Natura Bisse. And watch out for a special Natura Bisse treatment arriving in July, which was used at the Oscars no less!

Blythswood Square Spa, Glasgow

Blythswood spa

The Blythswood is luxury personified. The very modern, yet traditional, elegant, hotel has a subtle Scottish theme, with beautiful use of tweed, and the signature treatments called ‘Turus’, which means ‘journey’ in Gaelic. The Spa is stunning. It has nine treatment rooms, a thermal suite and two relaxation pools. Those signature treatments will take you on a journey to a heavenly state of relaxation. Spa treatments come from ila organics, Anne Semonin, and Elemis. You can book just a treatment, or a full spa day for the ultimate luxury.
