Father's Day Fragrances for every budget

3 min read

It’s Father’s Day on Sunday – don’t forget! He’s the most important man in your life! You can never go wrong with a fragrance, aftershave, cologne, whatever you want to call it, and I’ve picked out nine of the best in three price ranges – Budget, Mid-Range, and Premium.

Budget

They may be budget but these men’s scents are gorgeous – your dad will thank you for any of these, from left to right.

The Body Shop’s Activist (£15) is a warm and spicy EDT which can be liberally splashed on – it also has a matching shower gel and deodorant, if you’re feeling flush. Matchplay EDT (from £22.50, Marks and Spencer) was developed in Scotland, the home of golf, and is described as a ‘woody/aquatic/spicy’ scent – it’s lovely and fresh and a great alternative to golf balls for the golfing dad! Lynn Harris is an expert perfumer, and has created a beautiful collection for men and women for Marks and Spencer. Le Noir is a classic scent with citrusy notes of bergamot and mandarin, deeper notes of lavender and tarragon with patchouli and rich amber. It’s lovely, and at the moment is just £20.

Mid-Range

If you want to spend a little bit more, these three men’s fragrances are perfect for Father’s Day – and very different too, from left to right.

Who remembers Kouros?! This classic fragrance, in the Kouros Energizing EDT version (£35, available nationwide), is available in Limited Edition packaging for summer 2013. This is a lovely aromatic chypre, with citrus notes. It’s a lovely scent, and will have your dad dreaming of Greek shores! Lacoste L.12.12 Noir (£39 for 100ml, The Perfume Shop) is a classic of the future. Created for Lacoste’s 80th anniversary, this scent opens with watermelon, and then deepens into a darker scent, leaving a masculine but fresh dry-down. Orlando Bloom loves it – Hugo Boss’s Boss Orange for Men (£39, available nationwide) promises a feelgood summer – which dad wouldn’t want that?! it opens with fruity green apple, and is a fresh, easy to wear fragrance.

Premium

Splash out on your dad – but he might not want to splash it on in this price bracket. Gorgeous scents for special occasions, these are three of my favourite premium fragrances for men, from left to right.

Father's Day Fragrance PremiumAtelier Cologne’s Vetiver Fatal (from £95, Selfridges, Amazon) is stunning. The bottle has a handcrafted leather cap, and the fragrance is just lovely. from gorgeous Haitian vetiver, to orange flower, down to Texas Cedarwood and Oud wood, your dad will love this! Tom Ford’s Noir (from £60, Harvey Nichols, Frasers) is in a manly black bottle, and is a masculine scent, but has soft notes  – it’s supposed to represent both sides of the Tom Ford Man – the masculine side, and the new man side. Whatever, it’s a lovely fragrance. Bleu De Chanel EDT (from £46, available nationwide) is one of my favourite men’s scents out there. It’s fresh and citrusy, dry and cedary, heady and rich – it’s very wearable, and your dad will be thrilled!
