Estee Lauder Cello Shots

Estee Lauder launch Cello Shots in July, for a limited time only. This is one of those little collections beauty companies seem to come up with from time to time to freshen up their counters. These are cute, colourful and sure to appeal to Lauder customers when they pop in to buy their favourites. As Lauder puts it they are ‘a playful collection that blushes cheeks and washes lips with a shot of sheer gel colour’.

I’m not sure I’d rush out and buy these if I wasn’t intending to head to Lauder, but they are cute if you like bright pops of colour in your cosmetic bag, and they are actually very lovely, interesting products.  Firstly, they’re pronounced as in Sellotape, not Cello, the instrument. Secondly, there are actually three items in the collection – Pure Color Cheek Rush (£24), Pure Color Sheer Rush Lipshine (£19.50) and Pure Color Sheer Rush Gloss (£18)

There are four shades of Cheek Rush, and six shades each of the Lipshine and Gloss. The Cheek Rush is actually really nice for adding a quick, well, rush of colour to the cheeks – it’s a light, transparent like gel and goes on easily, and does actually have quite a bit of pigment – my finger was quite stained after application!

The Gloss has technology called “film-forming co-polymers submerged in emollient esters” to provide a cushion like feel on the lips – and whatever that is, it really does feel cushioned and bouncy – I cant think of any other way to describe it – it feels great. The colour is subtle and the shine is lovey – it’s a very sophisticated lip gloss. And the Lip Shine is super shiny and super cute.

And here’s a little video Estee Lauder made all about the Cello Shots!
