New: Clarins BB Cream

1 min read

There seems to be a constant stream of BB creams landing on my desk these days. I’ve had a few of late, including the long-awaited Clarins BB Skin Perfecting Cream. It comes in three shades, light,  medium and dark, had an SPF25  and goes on like a dream, with light to medium coverage, and s satin finish.

Clarins BB Cream

This BB Cream is lovely. Really lovely. It feels amazing upon application, and gives a really nice even, light,. coverage. However, if there is one thing that is a downside, it’s the colour. Even the light is just a tiny bit too dark for my pale skintone. When I came back my holidays, with a bit of a sunkissed glow (I’m loathe to call it a tan!), it was just perfect. But as that has faded, I do find it a little darker than my skintone. After reading a few reviews on the website, and having a Twitter conversation with a fellow beauty writer, it would seem I am not alone in thinking the light shade just isn’t light enough.

But the product itself is excellent – covers blemishes and dark circles, makes you look more radiant, and feels great. Contains hyaluronic acid and kiwi fruit for radiance.

If the good summer weather continues, I may get a sunkissed look again, and I will be able to wear it after my second holiday, later this summer. But for now, it’s with sadness and reluctance that it has to go back on the shelf.
