Kate Middleton - Beauty Icon?

Kate Middleton uses LAncomeIt seems that the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, might have the ‘Diana factor’ after all. The late Princess of Wales’s popularity is a lot for Kate to live up to, but it seems the British public do see her as an icon – well, the beauty loving British public at least.

According to a new poll from Britain’s largest online beauty retailer, feelunique.com, The Duchess of Cambridge has been named the most inspirational beauty icon, fighting off competition from supermodel Kate Moss. Readers favoured Kate Middleton’s polished look over the internationally recognised model’s cool and contemporary image.

The results showed that at least one in three women would be inclined to purchase a beauty product with the royal’s stamp of approval compared to just 15 per cent of shoppers who wanted Kate Moss’ beauty look.

Among the most requested Kate Middleton-inspired beauty items was Lancôme’s Genifique youth-enhancing serum, which rose in sales immediately after the poll.

“We have seen first-hand the ‘Kate Effect’ on sales of  beauty products” says Siobhan McDermott, general manager of Feelunique.com.Lancome Advanced Genefique

So, we reckon Lancome’s NEW Advanced Génifique Youth Activating Concentrate (£58) will be flying off the shelves when it launches tomorrow.

Genefique repairs and activates the skin’s signs of youth. It’s a serum, which has a pretty hefty fan base. After the launch of the original product, it soon became one of the brand’s bestsellers worldwide, and won over 130 international awards. It took only three years to become a bit of an icon, in a market where that normally takes around a decade.

The new version is bound to follow suit, so be quick if you want to be amongst the first to try it.

Lancome’s Advanced Genefique Youth Activating Concentrate, £59, is available from June 1, at Lancome counters nationwide.
