Beauty and the BAFTAs with MAC Cosmetics

2 min read

MAC were the Official Makeup Partner at last night’s BAFTAs – or Arqiva British Academy Television Awards to give them their full name. MAC made many of the TV stars up for awards more beautiful at their MAC Beauty Suite at London’s Corinthia Hotel, and others at home.

The feel of the night on the red carpet, was, according to MAC’s Senior Artist,Rebecca Butterworth, “early 20th century glamour inspired last night’s beauty, with many looks referencing the vintage feel of Parades End and The Great Gatsby. Eyes were darkened with veils of smoke while lips took inspiration from Silent Hollywood starlets, all offset against a canvas of velvet textured skin. Bright reds were also hugely popular, and brought a spring/summer feel to the night.”

Here are a few of last night’s Face Charts, showing the looks for actresses Helen George, from Call the Midwife, and Romola Garai, who stunned the BAFTAS by giving graphic details of her recent experience of childbirth, stating “After the recent birth of my child, I had the misfortune of having 23 stitches in my vagina. So I didn’t think I’d be laughing at anything for a long time – but tonight’s nominees have proved me wrong,” before presenting the Best Male Comedy performance Award to Steve Coogan.

And of course, the Face Chart of  double BAFTA winner, Olivia Coleman, who won for her roles in drama and comedy – in Accused and Twenty Twelve.
