Nearly Naked at Revlon

Revlon’s latest foundation promises that ‘naked skin’ look  – with makeup on. It’s what we all want – glowing, flawless skin – and we all need a little help with that, let’s be honest.

But the last thing we want is a foundation that looks noticeable, or caked – unless you favour the Geordie Shore girls or Snog, Marry, Avoid school of beauty, of course. Then, you might as well stop reading now!

Nearly Naked Makeup (£8.99) has an SPF20, which is a good start, and contains all sorts of ingredients, to give you all sorts of results – a lightweight feel, a near to flawless complexion, moisturisation and care.

Revlon Nearly Naked

it contains all sorts of natural ingredients – green tea and black tea for astringent and antioxidant properties, oatmeal for soothing and calming, and jojoba oil for moisturising. it’s formulated with weightless hollow silican pigments, which scatter enough light to diminish the look of fine lines on the skin. It also contains a combination of fillers, like Boron Nitride and Mica, to even the skintone.

So, what’s it like. It’s very natural – it does what it say – it gives a light coverage, but more than a tinted moisturiser, so you do feel that you have foundation on. It might be a touch drying on my very dry skin, but the Ivory shade was a perfect match for my pale skin tone. It comes in 10 shades, from Ivory at lightest, to Cappuccino at the other end of the spectrum.

There is also a Nearly Naked Pressed Powder (£7.99), which doesn’t overly interest me, because I am not a powder fan, but it comes in a cute white compact with a mirror, and in five shades – Fair, Light, Medium, Medium/Deep and Deep.

The foundation is in a glass bottle, with no pump, which perhaps is a bit annoying – you have to pour it out. I like it, it has that retro feel to it, but it’s not everyone’s favourite in these days of pump dispensers, wands, etc.
