Merle BlondeThat’s me there, on the left, blonde. Very blonde. Sadly it wasn’t forever. It was slightly over-processed, and really high maintenance, so after a couple of years, I was back to red. I did, however, use Paul Mitchell’s Platinum Blonde Shampoo, which added excellent ash tones to my hair, and was moisturising for my poor locks as well.

The Platinum Blonde Shampoo (£11.50) has been repackaged and is now part of a new range, Forever Blonde, which includes Forever Blonde Shampoo (£14.95), Forever Blonde Conditoner (£14.95) and Forever Blonde Dramatic Repair (£14.95).

This range is designed to cater for all blondes – obviously the Platinum Blonde Shampoo helps to brighten blonde, grey or white hair – it banishes brassiness and brings out the best in your pale hair – my mum loves it for her beautiful silver hair.

The other three products are designed to soften and strengthen as you use them – they contain a KerActive protein which guards against breakage. The shampoo contains Safflower Oleosomes, which help restore lost moisture and elasticity, whilst turmeric, chamomile and lemon peel help keep blonde hues light and bright. The conditioner has macadamia nut oil and those Safflower oleosomes again to deliver hydration to the hair shaft. The dramatic repair helps restore health and vitality, and strengthen and seal the cuticle.

It’s an exciting new range for blondes, who may have more fun, but at times, can have a lot of heartache keeping their locks in tip top condition – trust me, I’ve been there!
