Babydoll from YSL with Cara Delevingne

YSL has signed up supermodel Cara Delevingne to front their campaign for their latest collection, Baby Doll, which has a mascara at it’s heart. Gorgeous Cara looks stunning in this campaign shot, with a full-on cat’s eye flick.

The mascara is Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils Baby Doll (£24.50) and by akll accounts it’s a mascara like none other. I haven’t had the chance to try this yet, but when I do, I’ll pop up a review.

It’s got a lot of science behind it – the formula is inspired by a high tech molecule called graphene, a carbon crystal isolated in 2004 by two scientists who won the Nobel Prize for Physics in 2010. It’s a revolutionary molecule with extraordinary properties, ultra-thin, ultra flexible and ultra-resistant.

In 2013,  the laboratories succeeded in developing a formula that can mimic the structure and unique properties of graphene by precisely combining 3 polymers, soft waxes and an agent that allows for maximum distribution of black pigments, for perfectly even colour. The ultra-fine texture reproduces the flexibility and resistant properties of graphene. It makes it possible to lengthen and curl the lashes from roots to tips and ensure a 24-hour hold.

Sounds amazing – and did you know that a YSL mascara is sold every twelve seconds across the globe; that’s five mascaras a minute.

The Baby Doll masacara comes in four shades – Fetish Black, Wheedler Brown, Audacious Blue and Indiscreet Purple. The collection also has five Babydoll Eyeliners (£24), in brown, blue, amethyst, gold and rose, and a Rouge Pur Couture Vernis a Levres Lip Colour in Rose Babydoll (£23.50), and a La Lacque Couture Nail Polish  in Rose Babydoll (£18).
