Guerlain's beautiful Spring
Spring is most definitely in the air, even in February, don’t you think?! The sun is shining and the birds are singing, and it’s time to think about Spring beauty collections. Most of them have been on counter since January, but if you haven’t indulged yet, then have a look at Guerlain.
This beautiful old beauty brand are more than just a lipstick – they’re like a beauty event. Everything is so utterly glamorous, all wrapped up in delightful packaging, and the products themselves are excellent. They may be seen as a more traditional brand, but they are hugely innovative as well – think of their lipsticks and mascaras with mirrors encased in the packaging for instance.
This new spring collection has a new mascara at the heart of it. The Cils d’Enfer Maxi Lash Mascara (£22) is a Volume Creating – Curl Sculpting Mascara.
There are three polymers in this mascara. The first one thickens, the second one nourishes, and the third coats.And, for me, the best bit about it is the size. It is very compact, and will easily fit in the smallest of clutch bags.
A Guerlain collection wouldn’t be a Guerlain collection without some legendary powder pearls! This collection’s Météorites Perles du Paradis Illuminating Sparkling Powder (£43) are getting a boost and coming out in an XXL limited edition size. The gorgeous compact features six skin-toned and pastel shades. The traditional correcting colours – blue and green – have been replaced by pink, to brighten dull areas, and silver, to reflect ambient light and ensure one-of-a-kind radiance. The pale pink powder puff is topped with an elegant black bow. Powder pearls do seems so old-fashioned at times, but these are really lovely – give them a go!
Other products in the collection include two different lipsticks – Rouge Automatique and Shine Automatique (£24.50) in four new lovely spring shades of muted pinks and plums; two colours of Kiss Kiss Gloss (£24.50, again in lovely packaging) – sparkly shades of pink and orange – Cherry Pink and Frizzy Mango, and two lovely Ecrin 4 Couleurs Collector’s Palettes of eyeshadow (£38 each). Palette 501 Attrape-Coeur is a gorgeous palette of purples, with mauve, violet and white there to illuminate the main shade. Palette 502 Coup de Foudre, has exquisite shades of green, silvery patina and bronze-khaki team up with vibrant coral.
And to finish, a fabulous Liquid Eyeliner (£24.50), with the thinnest of tips, perfect for painting on classic flicks, or subtle lines.
