MAC World Aids Day - Jigsaw men!

2 min read

If you read this blog last week you will have seen the post about MAC makeup’s World AIDS Day event last Saturday in Edinburgh. To briefly recap,  on Saturday, a team of MAC makeup artists were at the Edinburgh Festival Theatre, to present a living exhibition which would challenge HIV stigma.

It was in association with leading Scots AIDS charity, Waverly Care, and the Festival Theatre and members of the public were asked to fill in a jigsaw puzzle on the model’s body, with a colour that represents how they feel about HIV/AIDS.

Here are the results! It’s hugely interesting don’t you think, to see what colours people have chosen to interpret their feelings. I think I would have gone for yellow, a colour I see as sunny, and hopeful.

The other model was painted with a brilliant image of the Festival Theatre, and the Waverly Care charity. Isn’t it fantastic? The MAC AIDS Fund has raised more than $270 million dollars to date since it’s inception in 1994, which have helped men, women and children globally, living with HIV/AIDS. The make up brand are proud of their fundraising work, and so they should be.

If you want to help, you can purchase an item from their Viva Glam range, which has a lovely little Christmas gift set out now, of a red and black leopard print clutch, a lipstick and lip conditioner, which is £30. Treat yourself and help the MAC AIDS Fund!
