Chanel for Christmas

1 min read

There was nothing but Chanel-chat last night in Scotland, with Karl Lagerfeld bringing the famous fashion house’s Metiers D’Art annual fashion show to Linlithgow Palace. It was a very glamorous affair indeed, as you would expect from Chanel, and Lagerfeld utilised the wonderful textiles of Scotland in his impressive show.

Of course, the nearest most of us come to a bit of Chanel is through their makeup or fragrance, and I for one can’t complain at that. Chanel perfumes are some of my favourite, and their makeup collections are always stunning. This year’s Christmas offering is no different. Peter Philips, the Creative Director of Chanel Makeup, has reinterpreted Chanel’s classic ‘Rouge Noir’ with gold and bronze to add a modern touch to evening makeup, in the Eclats Du Soir Christmas Collection.

The collection contains a stunning new Rouge Allure Velvet matte lipstick in L’Impatiente, and a hero Nail Colour, Malice, which is like Rouge Noir with a ‘flamboyant heart’. There is a gorgeous Eye Shadow Quartet with stunning deep berry and gold shades, and lovely Natural Finish Loose Powder, which has the subtlest silver and gold flecked through it to add that festive feel.

And my favourite piece of the collection? The Long Wear Luminous Eyeshadow in Apparence – and amazing metallic shimmer shadow for perfect Christmas sparkle.

Chanel’s Eclats Du Soir Christmas Makeup Collection is available now, prices from £18 to £43, available now at Chanel counters nationwide
