Very Estee (Lauder)

1 min read

There have been a lot of new fragrances released this Autumn, and many of them have been dark ‘Noir’ scents, all heady and oriental and mysterious. But the most recent one to land on my desk is actually very simple. Maybe even a little too simple. Very Estée is the newest perfume from Estée Lauder.

If you like Lauder fragrances, then you will probably like this. It’s a simple scent, perhaps a bit safe, in design and scent, but then that’s probably just me – I don’t really do understated! Lauder say this new fragrance is a ‘modern representation of what the Estée Lauder woman has always been – stylish, sophisticated and confident’.

It’s categorised as a Floral Woody Musk and comes in a very simple packaging. Very Estée is at first very floral, thanks to Gardenia Brazil Natureprint® (whatever that may be!) and Jasmine Petals, along with Cassis.  The top notes are Lotus, Freesia, Pink Pepper and that Cassis.

The heart has Bulgarian Rose Oil, Rose Petal NaturePrint®, velvety Gardenia Brazil NaturePrint® and delicate Jasmine Petals, and the base is of Sandalwood, Cedar Wood and Cashmere Wood Accord, finishing with a Sensual Musk Accord.

The dry down is floral, and subtle.  I don’t think this is a very contemporary fragrance – definitely one for Lauder fans. If you like Lauder, and simple things, then this is for you. If you like your bottles more opulent, and your fragrances with a bit more punch, it’s not.

Estée Lauder’s Very Estée , from £41, available now in 30ml and 50ml, Estée Lauder counters and esteelauder.co.uk
