L'Oreal Elnett Heat Spray launch..oh, and Cheryl Cole!

It was just another average Monday night. NOT! It was the most fun I’ve had on a Monday night in ages! L’Oreal Paris are launching new Elnett Heat Protect Styling Sprays later this month , and I was invited to try them out backstage at the face of the brand, Cheryl Cole’s, Glasgow concert at the SECC.

And not only did I – and a few other lucky beauty journalists – get my hair and makeup done, we got to quaff champagne, eat Cheryl branded chocolates, and watch the show from some of the best seats in the house, oh yeah, and meet the pop Princess herself!

I’m no fan of Cheryl’s music, but the mostly teenage and little girl crowd seemed to love the show the Girls Aloud singer and former X Factor judge put on. My favourite bit? When she performed atop a raised and spinning platform that made her appear like a dancing ballerina in a jewellery box.

Before she’d taken to the stage, I had a few minutes with the undeniably beautiful Cheryl, and we chatted what else, but hair and makeup. She was wearing a gorgeous smoky eye, though I’m not the biggest fan of the corn rows she’s been wearing for her Million Lights tour.

Her hair did however look glossy and full of volume – a great advert for the new sprays!

She also revealed that she had a silk wrap manicure on her nails, and they were painted in a lovely pale pastel, L’Oreal Color Riche in Opera Ballerina (£4.99)? If you fancy something similar, check out all the nail deals on 5pm Health and Beauty.

And what of the new Elnett product? Well, it’s the first time in 50 years that Elnett, surely the king of hairsprays, has launched a new product. That’s incredible in itself. Elnett is the only hairspray for me, so I was intrigued to try out the new product from the range. The Heat Protect Styling Sprays Smooth It, Wave It, and Boost It, and promise to give 3 days hold – yes, that’s 72 hours hold. I had the Curls spray in my hair, and my flicks did drop overnight…but… when I put them back in again with my own tongs, they bounced right back and lasted another day.

The sprays offer up to 230 degrees Centigrade protection and lock in the style you want, and lock out the frizz you don’t! They’re really easy to use, just apply to damp hair, and dry and style as normal. And, they’re just £5.99 each.
