Creme de la Mer - a new miracle...

2 min read

Creme de la Mer is something of a beauty phenomenon. It is a very  expensive product, but despite recession, double dip and the trend for more affordable products, it’s still going strong. Women who love it? They LOVE it.

I can remember when I was first introduced to it back in the early Noughties as a beauty writer. The story of Dr Max Huber and his miracle broth is imprinted in my brain. If you don’t know, check out the website, but in short, Huber, an aerospace physicist suffered burns in a laboratory and looked to sea kelp for a cure, and the rest is beauty history.

Since the launch of the original Creme de la Mer moisturiser, various new launches have hit the counters, from body creams, to lip balms, to specific beauty products, all including the trademarked Miracle Broth.  The Miracle Broth is infused with seal kelp and ingredients like vitamins C, E and B12 and oils of citrus, eucalyptus and alfalfa.

The latest launch is The Moisturizing Soft Cream, a new formula of Creme with a soft, luxurious texture. it contains Lime Tea Extract, which is derived from hand peeled limes which undergo a careful extraction process. Apparently when the Miracle Broth and the Lime Tea Extract collide at high speeds, they form tiny multi-layered spheres which are the Moisturizing Spheres which make the new creme so soft.

It certainly is a much lighter formula, and is more easily sbsorbed into the skin that the original which at times was quite heavy, in my experience. If you have a spare £100 and are a beauty cream junkie, or a Creme addict, then you might want to give it a try!

Creme de la Mer, The Moisturising Soft Cream, £100 (30ml), £190 (60ml), available at Creme counters nationwide and cremedelamer.co.uk
