A Rose By Any Other Name...

Yes, I am quoting Shakespeare this morning, but don’t worry, you’re on the right blog! I’ve just come over all Romeo and Juliet thanks to my love of rose, and today’s blog posts!

I adore the scent of rose – from fresh and natural, right up to synthetic and cheap, I can’t get enough of it. I’ve been thrilled recently with a few new rose scented products that have landed in my office,so I thought I’d share them with you.

First up, is Anna Sui’s latest fragrance, Fairy Dance – Secret Wish (priced from £26, debenhams.com) Ms Sui loves rose more than I do, and it’s at the heart of all of her perfumes (and her beautiful cosmetics are scented with it!).

This new scent is very fruity, rather than floral, with tangerine, mango and pink pepper top notes, blended at the heart, of course, with rose, accompanied by peony and bamboo, and then it bottoms out with sandalwood, vetiver, and musky tones. Its very fresh, and the bottle is as gorgeous as always.

Did I tell you I like fairies too? Those be rubies, fairy favours, in their freckles, live their savours…Sorry, Ive gone all Shakespeare again!

The next rose item to arrive was the gorgeous Limited Edition Jurlique Deluxe Edition Rosewater balancing Mist (£40, jurlique.co.uk). It’s a bit of a decadent item this, essentially it’s just a hydrating spray to refresh you skin. It has no real purpose, but it is GORGEOUS! Finally, a lovely duo from one of my favourite brands, Melvita. If you haven’t discovered this French organic brand yet, then do it now!
