Sanctuary Spa Active Reverse anti-ageing

Anti-ageing is a big concern of mine -I guess that happens with age! But it’s really never too early to start properly looking after your skin. If you haven’t already downloaded the Skincare Through the Decades guide I produced for 5pm Health and Beauty then head over to their Facebook page, and get a copy – it’s free!

If you are over 40, and are looking for some new anti-ageing skincare, then I can recommend the brand new Active Reverse range from The Sanctuary Spa. This comprehensive range of six anti-ageing skincare essentials has some really interesting products in it.

It of course contains a serum, in this instance the Power Peptide Serum, and if you are over 40 you really should be using a serum in your skincare routine. This combines active ingredients with replenishing oils, and tackles deep-set wrinkles around the forehead, mouth and eyes without intrusive treatments or injections.

Other products include  Day Cream and Night Cream, both with plumping actions and hydrating properties. There is also a Lipid Recovery Facial Oil, which firms, tones and nourishes – this gives nourishment at cellular level to mature skin, and it is really beautiful. I really love facial oils, for that extra boost when you need it. This one is packed with goodies like pomegranate, rosehip seed, jojoba and wheatgerm oils.

The 30 Day Thermal Transformation is a two-step mask with peptides and hyaluronic acid which will strengthen the collagen network to plump and repair the skin’s structures, reducing that ‘crepey’ skin effect.

But my favourite product is the Leave-On Exfoliating Cream which is a grain-free serum, and is applied and worn all day under makeup or moisturiser. It’s gentle enough to use all day, and works by encouraging the rate of skin cell renewal. Traditional exfoliators can be too harsh on more mature skins.

The range is available now from thesanctuaryspa.co.uk, and spa locations, and debenhams.com and Debenhams stores, and at Boots and boots.com from mid August. Prices from £16-£27.50
