Defy the years with injections of your own blood!
So, there are some very odd beauty treatments out there. Botox is a poison after all, but many of us readily inject it into our faces. So, why did I feel just that little bit ill when I heard about the latest treatment which uses injections of your OWN BLOOD to help turn back the years?!
Maybe because I am hugely squeamish when it comes to blood? However, who am I to judge a treatment used by the likes of Rafa Nadal, Barcelona football star Xavi Hernandez and King Juan Carlos I of Spain?!
The pioneering therapeutic technology is now offered to the public as a natural facial rejuvenation treatment for the very first time in the UK, alongside other treatments, at the NaturalSkn clinics in Scotland.
So what is it? Well, it’s based on the use of PRGF-Endoret technology which renews and replenishes skin to delay the onset of ageing in younger skin, and smoothes wrinkles producing a healthier, more natural complexion in older skin.
This works by using small concentrations of blood plasma obtained from a sample of the patients own blood. Then, the enriched facial skin cells are stimulated to produce natural collagen and hyaluronic acid, which, as we know, substantially improves the smoothness, thickness, hydration and health of the skin, as we know.
As the plasma is obtained entirely from the blood of each patient, the result is spectacular and there is no question of an allergic reaction, rejection of the treatment or loss of any facial movement or expression.
How sci-fi is this?! Obviously this technology was developed and patented for help with medical treatments, but as is usual with ‘finds’ like this , it is now being utilised in cosmetics procedures.
PRGF-Endoret stands for Plasma Rich in Growth Factors, and was developed and patented worldwide by the Spanish company BTI – Biotechnology Institute. The aim of the technology is to achieve successful applications in areas such as dental implants, oral and maxillo-facial surgery, orthopaedics, ophthalmology, sports medicine, chronic ulcer treatment and now, dermatology.
Practitioners at the NaturalSkn clinics are the first in the UK to undergo the necessary training in Spain to carry out the treatment to clients.
